Visual expanse: A full wall of glazing seamlessly connects the bedroom to the lush terrace outside, dissolving the boundary between the interior comfort and nature.

Resort at Rishikesh

A hillside resort in Rishikesh designed along a steep, linear site, with all guest units oriented toward uninterrupted views of the Ganga and the surrounding valley.

Hospitality Architecture for a Himalayan Hillside

The resort is planned as a series of stepped terraces that follow the natural slope of the land rather than cutting against it. Eight private villas and guest rooms within the main building are arranged so that every unit maintains a continuous visual connection with the Ganga and the valley below. This ensures that the primary experience of the resort — light, air, and landscape — remains present from every room, regardless of its level.

A central building at the top of the site houses reception, café, dining, and shared facilities, while the accommodation cascades down the hillside through green-roofed terraces and private plunge pools. This arrangement minimizes the visual impact of the built form while improving privacy and thermal performance. Circulation moves gradually down the slope, creating a slow, layered arrival experience that reflects Rishikesh’s character as a place of retreat and reflection, while remaining efficient and serviceable as a hospitality development.
