The client approached us to design a post retirement home in the historic village of Divar, situated on a riverine island close to Panjim. Since the client was moving to Divar from Delhi, he wanted to make every effort to become a part of the local community.This also meant making sure that his new house would not stand out in the neighbourhood. Hence, we set out to design a house that would seamlessly blend into the charming Indo-Portuguese built heritage of the village.

We collaborated with local craftsmen and contractors to build this single storey, 3 bedroom house with lofty ceilings and airy open-plan drawing, living and dining spaces. Natural Sandstone and granite varieties were used extensively for indoor and outdoor flooring along with minimal marble inlays in some areas.
