SDPS was founded in 1992 by Lamdon Society, an NGO formed by the local community in Leh. The project was conceptualised in collaboration with Chybik + Kristof Associated Architects and is made possible by Brontosauri in Himalayas. The mission of the school is to provide quality education to all children, with no differences in social or economic background. The project has been active for over 10 years, during which a classroom block, a hostel block and most recently the laboratory block have been constructed along with other infrastructure.
